Barrie Brown - Founder & CEO
Barrie L. Brown is the founder and CEO of Advantage HR. The
company was incorporated in 1994 as a Professional Employer Organization
(PEO) franchise operating under the business name Checkmate of South
Florida. In 2004, the Company left the franchise operation in order to
provide a set of additional human resource services to its clients.

In 1994 Barrie founded Aaron Brown and Associates, Inc., to offer
clients both payroll and human resources, primarily in the Southern
Florida area. Through the next 10 years, Barrie founded two additional
companies, a medical billing company (Physicians Advantage) and a
temporary staffing company (Superior Labor Services formerly
Tee-Off-Temps).
Prior to founding Checkmate of South Florida. Barrie was
a sales and support software specialist employed by Effective Management
Systems (EMS) a manufacturing software developer utilizing large scale
IBM systems. Barrie was also the vice president of American operations
for Varnet, a Canadian company specializing in manufacturing software.
Barrie is also certified as an inventory and senior manufacturing
control specialist through APICS the national association of certified
inventory control and manufacturing control specialists.
Chris Brown - Director of IT
Chris Brown graduated from American University in 2005 with a B.S. in
Information Systems. During his undergraduate years, Chris worked at The
Advisory Board Company's IT help desk in Washington, DC performing
computer troubleshooting and upgrades as well as daily interfacing with
software vendors. Since 2006, Chris has served as Information Technology
Director at Advantage HR where he has managed and developed numerous
software projects aimed at increasing operational efficiency with the
company. Chris incorporates his experience of information
technology to provide new and innovative solutions to common workflow
obstacles.
